Friendship
She and Her (English & Chinese Version)
Now and then I fathom
Of she and her.

Into my hair

I have some pimples on my face, which is a sign that I look more angry. My mouth and eyes are down when relaxed, which looks a little sad but that doesn’t matter to be a positive person。

A Character Study
“Hi this is Carrie Downie, I can’t get the phone right now, please leave me a message!” She sounded seven in the recording, filled with energy and intensity that I could not imagine her ever having again.
For me, To you,
I wrote your name down on the soft but brittle sand.
Flowers by sea waves bloom around your image.
What will happen if I can’t see you again?
Second Issue
Summer
Summer in Chicago
At the start I wanted nothing more than escape, such that I gladly accepted the fact that not completing one of the mandatory forms meant being deported.
By the Chicago River
Along the verdurous river were iconic skyscrapers, historic bridges, and bustling waterfronts.
Maybe I’ll be a writer then
That made me realize, maybe a “maybe” is fine for a plan for the future.
A Chinese Boy’s Ramblings about Football, Rock, and Girls.
Sometimes I get the feeling that I’ve been looking for something all my life.
Third Issue

It was common for a rural Chinese family of the 1950s-60s to have 8 kids.

Every day I think about the part of our small family that was lost on this road, a life lost that continues to remind me to be careful.
My Sister’s First Drawing
I was annoyed by this drawing, especially when Mom taped it to the fridge, high enough so I couldn’t tear it down.
